Random Shots ~ New Life / Quintessentials / Treasures / Ruckus
Yep, that’s me. I’d be the idiot that you would usually find hanging off the back of a jet ski with a camera in my hand. In fact, if anyone could draw a caricature of that (Ahem … Kane Hawkins, who happens to be the best illustrator I’ve ever met) I’d love to have one as my new profile pic. Anyway, here’s a little randomness from the Lake. Building ~ Who doesn’t get excited … Read More Random Shots ~ New Life / Quintessentials / Treasures / Ruckus
Ahh…The Waters
Ahh… the waters. The restoring, regenerating, replenishing power of the waters. Nothing that I have found can quite renew my spirit the way that Lake Burton can. I’ve been wanting to write about the lake again for a while now, but, sometimes a post just needs to develop on it’s own. This has been one of those posts. You see, it has taken the unfolding of … Read More Ahh…The Waters
ICAA / Bobby McAlpine / And, an Amazing Evening ~ The Follow Up…
First, to the Home. Once again, the ICAA knocks it out of the park. This time with a guest lecture (for members only) by McApline Tankersly’s own Bobby McAlpine. The location was in a Home of one of his few Atlanta projects. Even though it’s tucked away in the heart of Buckhead, I’ve driven past it many times and always wanted to check it out first hand. Before actually … Read More ICAA / Bobby McAlpine / And, an Amazing Evening ~ The Follow Up…
Which one would you pick?
I Love to find patterns. Patterns in the marketplace. Patterns in emerging developments. Patterns in people’s behaviors. The crazy thing is though, so often I fail to see any of the patterns in my own life. While driving from one project to another last week, I began to connect a few of the dots. You see, I’ve never considered myself to be defined by one single architectural style. In … Read More Which one would you pick?
Well Worth the Ticket
Hey All ~ Quick post here about an outstanding event that I went to last Thursday evening. It was the Atlanta Symphony Associations Decorators Showhouse. These are always incredible tours, not only because of the unsurpassed talents of the participants involved, but also, because of the spectacular venues which they are able to showcase. And this one was nothing less than amazing. We were lucky enough to actually have a private guided tour … Read More Well Worth the Ticket
Taken Back a Bit…
Well, we just made it back, with a bevy of young’uns in tow, from a week away at my second most favorite place under the sun. That place being St. Simons Island along the gorgeous Georgia coast. I love it for its strength in resisting the trap of commercialization. You know, a sell out of any kind has always rubbed me the wrong way. While we … Read More Taken Back a Bit…
Spring, Spitzmiller, APC and The Grant Mansion
What a magnificent day this Saturday turned out to be. It started with some good times, hanging out with the tennis crowd and capturing a swift victory. It wasn’t me though. I think I need to give almost all of the credit here to Ted. {Who, by the way, runs an exceptional company called North Georgia Windows. If you ever need to get some windows replaced, give Ted … Read More Spring, Spitzmiller, APC and The Grant Mansion
What’s the Thread
The other night, as my wife and I were spending a quiet evening reading, she handed me the latest edition of Southern Living stating that I had to take a look because just about everybody I ever speak about is mentioned somewhere in the issue. And sure enough, it was chock full of local talent. So, I dove right in.
It’s a Radiation Vibe Thing
Here’s one of my All~Time favorite Homes, in one of my All~Time favorite communities. The beautiful enclave of Brookhaven. I happen to have the good fortune of driving by this beaut everyday as we have a new home going up just down the road. I Love the patio doors, the full size shutters, the rhythm of segmented arches, the swooped gable, the motor … Read More It’s a Radiation Vibe Thing
The Mark of a Professional
Greetings All. You know, one thing that I love to do with this blog is to promote other individuals or entities. But, I am hesitant to plug just anyone. You see, this is something that I place a great deal of consideration into. It is something that I certainly do not take lightly. From my perspective, they have to be truly worthy. Truly knocking it out of … Read More The Mark of a Professional
Now We’re Singing
As you may know, I’ve been knee-deep in getting situated with the new company and all. And, it’s been a blast. I suppose that last Friday would mark the completion of my first full week on the job. While driving home, enjoying the gorgeous Atlanta afternoon, the iPhone playlist pulled up an all-time old favorite.
